Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly to what is happening in your life in any particular moment. It is way of calmly and consciously working with your own stress, pain, illness, and the challenges and demands of everyday life.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) courses at Milton Keynes Mindfulness will help you learn how to respond to situations differently by consciously bringing awareness to those automatic reactions, teaching you how to accept and observe the present moment rather than reflecting on the past.

Participating in a mindfulness course can help us learn to:

  • Deal more effectively with stress and stressful situations
  • Cope better with the ups and downs of life
  • Feel less overwhelmed by emotions
  • Work with difficult states of mind including anxiety and low moods

By learning and practising mindfulness, you’ll be able to recognise your patterns and automatic responses and instead choose a response that is more positive, calm, comfortable and focused on the ‘now’.
